What are the pros and cons of moving to the Bay area from Portland? - bay area ragdoll

I am a marketing manager in the Portland area in a high-tech companies. I have an offer for a house in the Bay Area. You can not in my head, because it is very expensive in the Bay Area, but the position provides a greater responsibility. Look for an analytical approach to the problem. To complicate things a father will be well soon. Can someone help me, a more rational?

Is your child traveling with you? If not, are willing to work those precious baby years shares "more responsibility"?
If so, you should consider going to send children to school. San Francisco public schools have a pretty bad reputation. And from what I understand school funding is a problem throughout the state, to the fact that the taxes people have frozen to the property in 1975 levels, while others pay excessive prices.
Want to play terrace for your child? A friend of a friend is from San Francisco to Portland, and changed the flat for a house with 3 bedrooms, without an increase in their income. Are you ready to change the opposite?
