Buoyancy For Pontoon Build Would Screw-cap Bottles Make A Good Buoyancy Agent For A Pontoon?

Would screw-cap bottles make a good buoyancy agent for a pontoon? - buoyancy for pontoon build

I intend to build a pontoon with PVC pipes, the ends butt end, I've optimized hydrodynamic piece. To ensure this is kept permanently afloat in the port for sea water, I thought of packing with insert screws into plastic bottles.
Does this work?

Absolutely. Salt water does not deteriorate the plastic. The bottles fit very well and even when the battery. Excellent idea.

Recently I read a couple of guys who sailed from California to Hawaii on a raft of candles from plastic bottles, etc. One of the problems they had to lose some plastic cutting fish, A part of the flotation.

Their problems of a different era, which is not very hydrodynamic and go as fast as expected, making the travel time, leaving enough time to eat let.

It should work just fine, but make sure the caps are the type of plastic, not metal. Plastic bottles are UV protected by PVC not affected.
